Sarah Atwell is a teen from Windsor, Nova Scotia, who has a genetic disorder, neurofibromatosis, which causes tumours in tissues that surround nerves throughout the body. She posted a video of herself  on Facebook in August, 2012, in which she tells her story through hand-written placards, accompanied by country crooner Mark Will in the background. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ia0g6K9R1co

You don’t have to be my friend. Is it too much to ask. Don’t laugh at me.

In 24 hours, Sarah’s Facebook video went viral. Messages of support came in from around the world.  Ottawa-based social media site NO MORE BULLIES picked it up and The Chronicle Herald made it a front page story on Saturday Aug. 25, 2012.
