Sexy “Bridget” Ads for Save Driving in Halifax; The Girlfriend Ad for Jim Beam Bourbon

On the same day that the Huffington Post picked up on the Canadian Press story that feminists were objecting to the Bridget ads for Safe Driving on the MacKay bridge, a Facebook “friend” posted the “best” commercial for Jim Beam Bourbon (The Girlfriend — 45 sec on You Tube via Chill application). No accompanying complaint about exploiting objectifying women here.  But is one worthier than the other?  Sex to sell a commercial product vs sex as advocacy.  Say No to both.

The Jim Beam Ad exploits the erotic AND the exotic to sell product.
