Off The Beaten Path: Violence, Women and Art (a virtual global exhibition)

Off the Beaten Path:  Violence, Women and Art

This multi-media travelling art exhibition can be accessed on the Art Works for Change web site: www.artworksforchange.org/otbp_virtual.htm

As you walk (click) from room to room on this virtual site of a US-led global exhibition, powerful images and accompanying texts represent the lived experience of violence in everyday life and in the context of wars.  The visual art and photography serves to protesting worldwide injustices to girls and women, and features such farflung countries as Japan, Iceland, Cuba, Portugal, Norway, Kazahkstan, Peru, Poland, Israel, France, Liberia, Kenya, Mexico, Egypt, and the US. Canada is conspicuously absent, as are other non-US English-speaking nations such as Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and India.  Surely these places and peoples are not off the beaten path?
